Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes Gets Director John Stevenson

Kung Fu Panda director John Stevenson has agreed to direct the animated sequel Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes for Rocket Pictures.
We first reported on the sequel back in March, when Gnomeo and Juliet writers Andy Riley and Kevin Cecil signed on to write the screenplay. The story centers on Gnomeo and Juliet hiring the great detective Sherlock Gnomes, when several of the gnomes have gone missing. Gnomeo and Juliet stars James McAvoy and Emily Blunt are expected to return as the title characters, although no deals have been finalized yet.
As he did with Gnomeo and Juliet, Elton John will produce with his Rocket Pictures partner David Furnish, with Steve Hamilton Shaw executive producing. Elton John will also compose new music for the sequel.
Production is scheduled to begin early next year, although it isn’t clear when they plan to release this animated follow-up.
Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes is in development . The film is directed by John Stevenson.

Nina Dobrev Gets Nostalgic As ‘Vampire Diaries’ Production Begins
by Meg Malone
While we’re sitting on our couches just watching television, Nina Dobrev is out there making television, and lucky for us she’s back shooting yet another season of the totally addictive “Vampire Diaries“!
Having dejavu/flashbacks. Its the first day of filming at TVD- season 4. FOUR YEARS-how insane is that? I feel like we just did the pilot…

Time sure does fly! That’s so much time spent debating “Damon or Stefan?”, watching Nina rock her dual roles as both Elena and Katherine, continuing to debate “Damon or Stefan?”… Don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to continue discussing before we head back to Mystic Falls for “The Vampire Diaries”‘ return on October 11.
We’ve already declared “The Vampire Diaries” panel at Comic-Con one of our can’t-miss things at the convention, so hopefully the screening and Q&A will give us some more intel on season four. And of course, while you’re in the San Diego sun (or out in any sun for that matter!), remember to take Nina’s advice to sunscreen up.

Ashley Madekwe Gets ‘Revenge’ With Fabulous Shoes
by Meg Malone
Forget feeling like revenge – we’re too busy feeling envious looking at the picture that “Revenge” actress Ashley Madekwe tweeted today from her costume fitting.
First costume fitting for #Revenge!!!? instagr.am/p/MtZd2hqhbi/

Shoe envy, am I right Crushers? If we had to pick a favorite, those ones in the center look pretty snazzy and have us intrigued. Though we wouldn’t be complaining about any of them since the peep-toe heels on the right are classic and those ones on the left have quite the sharp looking toes (literally!).
Besides these shoes here, Ashley’s “Revenge” character, Ashley Davenport, certainly makes us jealous since according to ABC’s “Revenge” website, Ashley Davenport has “$ 50k worth of designer clothes and shoes.”
All this talk is making us want to hit the mall for a shopping spree – sadly, we don’t have a $ 50,000 credit card limit. Anyway, the tweet reminded us how fabulous Ashley and everyone else will be looking once the second season of “Revenge” rolls around. Can’t wait to see what kind of Hamptons drama goes down in season two!
Which of these shoes would you totally want to borrow? Excited for “Revenge” to return? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!
Tom Cruise Gets Real Tough For ‘Jack Reacher’ Trailer

It may come as a surprise, given the events of the past few days, but Tom Cruise is actually more than a famous three-time divorcee. He’s also a working actor.
Cruise’s latest action offering is an adaptation of Lee Child’s “One Shot” and features the author’s most famous recurring character, the massive drifter/vigilante Jack Reacher. While the film’s creators may have downgraded the stature of Reacher for Cruise, all of the ass-kicking is still in place.
Check out the first full trailer (via Yahoo! Movies) for “Jack Reacher” after the jump!
We’ve watched the trailer a few times now, and we’re a little confused. Director Christopher McQuarrie of “Usual Suspects” fame made the Nobel Prize-worthy casting choice of Werner Herzog as the film’s main bad guy. Yet, no matter how many times we watch this first preview, we can’t for the life of us find Herzog anywhere in the trailer.
Why would anyone do something so cruel?
Anyway, the lack of Herzog is probably just a way to keep our attention for at least one more trailer. This first preview introduces us to Reacher and his tough guy ways. A man in a hospital bed does a good job at laying down enough exposition that we learn that Reacher was once a cop that has now gone rouge, taking the law into his own hands.
Plus, he’s got a sweet ride. The trailer largely focuses on Cruise’s car, and then it shifts to bring attention to how scary Tom Cruise can be to a group of thugs.
